Airloy® H103 Hydrophobic Strong Aerogel Tiles
$105
Airloy® H103 offers all of the benefits of our Airloy X100 series products, but has been formulated to be hydrophobic and can withstand prolonged liquid water exposure. Airloys from Aerogel Technologies are the world's first commercially-available mechanically robust aerogels with the strength to stand up to real-world applications. Airloy H103 comes in densities up to fifteen times lighter than plastics (about the same density as our Classic Silica aerogels) yet is about 100x stronger in compression than classic aerogels and without the fragility of classic aerogels. Dust-free. Machinable and adherable. Provides 10-1000x better acoustic damping than traditional engineering materials over most audible frequencies. Thermally superinsulating with a thermal conductivity between classic silica aerogels and Styrofoam®. Maximum operating temperature is ~80°C. Dimensions are approximately 2″ x 3″ x 0.3″ (5 cm x 7.5 cm x 0.7 cm).
Download the Material SDS here.
For operating temperatures up to 300°C, choose Airloy X116 instead.
Airloys are sold by density. Properties such as strength and stiffness increase with increasing density, while thermal conductivity decreases with decreasing density. Airloy H103 properties scale with density approximately as follows:
Density Class | Density | Compressive Yield Strengtha | Compressive Modulusa | Ultimate Strengtha | Thermal Conductivitya | 24h water uptakea |
L | 0.11 g/cc | 0.6 MPa | 11 MPa | 43 MPa | 23 mW/m-K | 10 wt% |
aApproximate values. For reference only.
Densities currently available for online purchase are shown in the section above. Additional densities and sizes coming soon and available by request.
Quantity discounts available:
